Disability Sport Programmes
Inclusive Fitness Initiatives
Motivating and encouraging people of all ages with a disability to keep active, fit and healthy is a key area of work in the Sports Inclusion Disability Programmes.
Donegal Sports Partnership delivers a number of fitness programmes on an annual basis. A number of these programmes are delivered in collaboration with partner organisations.
Types of fitness programmes delivered:
Chair Based Fitness Programmes
Delivered independently to members of the community and also delivered in conjunction with our partners such as the Irish Wheelchair Association for their members.
Fit INC
A weekly exercise programme for children and teenagers with autism or an intellectual disability. The sessions are a mixture of aerobic and circuit-based activities.
1-1 Fitness Sessions
In partnership with local inclusive fitness providers we enable people with a disability to participate in both group and 1-1 fitness sessions.
Inclusive Fun Family Fitness
An inclusive fitness programme for children and young adults with a disability and their families.
CARA Fit4All Week
Fit For All is a national initiative aimed at increasing awareness among people with disabilities, families/carers and disability services on the benefits of regular exercise, healthy lifestyles and opportunities to participate within the local community.
