Donegal Bay Inclusive Sports Hub

The Donegal Bay Inclusive Sports Hub is the first hub of its kind in Ireland to specifically target people with a disability. The initiative aims to increase participation of people with a disability in sport and recreational physical activity.

The project has several community partners including; the Finn Valley Athletic Centre (Stranorlar), Niall Mór Centre (Killybegs) and the Lakeside Centre (Ballyshannon). Each partner provides a site and therefore provides multi-area anchor organisations for the hub.

This Community Hub seeks to focus predominantly on the South of County Donegal (from Bundoran to Glencolmcille and extending to Finn Valley) using the Finn Valley Athletic Centre (Stranorlar), Niall Mór Centre (Killybegs) and the Lakeside Centre (Ballyshannon) as the anchor organisations for the programme.

Actions are based on an annual detailed action plan developed as a result of the baseline needs analysis and guided by the feedback from participants, families and partner organisations.
